From 1969-1975 the hospital had major redevelopment leading to a new hospital encompassing the old hospital. Part of the old hospital were repurposed into The Clive Irvine College of Nursing which was started in 1951 and named in honour of the hospital founder Dr. Archibald Clive Irvine.
