Management of the Hospital transferred to PCEA

1956

PCEA Chogoria Mission Hospital was founded in 1922 by Scottish Missionaries. The ownership of the hospital was transferred from the Church of Scotland to the Presbyterian Church of East Africa in 1956. From 1969-1975 the hospital had major redevelopment leading to a new hospital within the old hospital in a restoration and re-use development. It was a perfect case of putting "new wine into old wineskins".
